Happy First Day of Fall!
Coronado - Day 2

We had a nice, relaxing morning getting ready to "be about town."

A ship passes in the......morning

Hotel Del Coronado

The Hotel Del is located west of Coronado on the Pacific Ocean.  Hotel Del is a
San Diego / Coronado Institution.  It is an 1887 Wood Victorian Beach Resort.
We had visited it when we were here 25 years ago.  This time we planned to have lunch.
We ate at the Sheerwater and enjoyed the view of the beach and Pacific Ocean.

USS Midway
The Aircraft Carrier - USS Midway is located in San Diego, California.
USS Midway  is an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. Commissioned a week after the end of World War II, Midway was the largest ship in the world at that time.
Decommissioned in 1992, the Midway is now a museum.

Midway - The Movie - starring; Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda, Robert Mitchum, James Coburn,
Robert Wagner, Glenn Ford, Hal Holbrook, Toshiro Mifune, Pat Morita, Cliff Robertson.
The film chronicles the Battle of Midway, a turning point in World War II in the Pacific. And the strategy of the Japanese Navy.  It is an action packed film.   I watched this movie years ago and now that I have seen the actual ship, I may have to watch it again?

A Cargo Car-Hauler just sneaking under the bridge.  It is huge!

Our boat creates more wake then this 10 "gazillion" pound cargo hauler!  And, it is so quiet!!
